Hours: March –November 15th: 9:00am until 1:00pm Every Saturday

Winter: 1st & 3rd Saturdays of Dec., Jan., Feb.

The Salvage barn is currently located at the Iowa City Landfill

Friends of Historic Preservation is an Iowa City non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the historic buildings and neighborhoods of Iowa City and Johnson County. We actively encourages green, sustainable living by supporting policies that protect historic properties and neighborhoods.

The Salvage Barn -- Architectural Salvage Warehouse

Year-round, Friends operates the Salvage Barn of architectural and historic building items that are at least 50 years old and no longer are sold commercially. The Salvage Barn serves as a centralized source for the owners of older homes or buildings to find historically appropriate materials for the repair and restoration of their property.
