WHAT'S NEW

ZONING CHANGES

602 E Washington

PZ is looking at changing the comprehensive plan for the property at 602 E Washington located in a historic conservation district.

Historic Tax Credit Workshop

FHP will host the workshop, "Using State and Federal Tax Credits to Rehabilitate Historic Properties," later this spring in the Education Room at the East Side Recycling Center located at 2401 Scott Blvd in Iowa City. Emily Meyer, Associate Developer with Ryan Companies will provide practical applications for the tax credits. Properties listed or eligible to be listed on the National Register of Historic Places qualify for the tax credits.

Emily Meyer has led numerous large-scale projects through the tax credit process. Past projects of note include the Grant Wood Studio at 5 Turner Alley, Theatre Cedar Rapids, and C.S.P.S. Hall. Currently, Emily is at work on the Paramount Theatre, the former Federal Courthouse, and the Fawcett Building, home to Orchestra Iowa.

Admission is free and open to the general public.
